MUC Instructors and Students Participate in Reception Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Switzerland

On November 11, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries held a reception in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland. Teachers and students from the MUC School of Music and MUC School of Dance were invited to participate in activities. They performed wonderful cultural programs at the reception, which were well received by the guests.

MUC's students' flute solo "Welcome" kicked off the reception. The flute sound was melodic and loud,  joyfully welcoming the guests. The Mongolian horsehead fiddle's performer played the melody of "Spring Is Coming." The sound was round, low-backed, and interspersed with khoomei (throat singing), a tradition recognized as an intangible world cultural heritage. It evoked the beautiful scene of the spring along with the grasslands. The Chinese classical dance "Flower Creek Sunny and Rain" brought the guests a harmonious and poetic impression. And MUC students also prepared a Swiss folk song, "To The Lake." The cheerful, playful, and lively Swiss folk song was performed by the traditional Kazakh folk instrument dombra, bringing a unique sense of charm to the audience. The last group sang "Let the World Be Filled with Love" and performed the common aspirations of all the people on the scene to promote friendship between China and Switzerland and spread love to the world, pushing the event's atmosphere to a climax.

Chinese and foreign guests highly praised the wonderful program.
