On the afternoon of November 3rd, a video conference call was held in the MUC Zhixing Hall to conduct a ceremony acknowledging a cooperation agreement between the MUC School of International Education and the Chinese Culture and Art Exchange Center of King Abdulaziz University. MUC Vice President Song Min was present to observe the agreement's signing and delivered a speech.
In her speech, Song Min mentioned that China and Saudi Arabia have become increasingly close educational and cultural cooperation and exchanges in recent years. Therein, exchanges and cooperation in teaching and scientific research between the two countries' universities have also been increasingly strengthened. As can be seen from this, cooperation between MUC and Saudi Arabian universities will be more far-reaching and solid. Song Min introduced MUC's strategy for opening up. She also offered an overview and summarized MUC's development situation related to international cooperation related work. After that, she reiterated the process of establishing cooperation between MUC and the Saudi Arabian school. She expressed that she hoped the two sides would be able to cooperate with Chinese teaching, curriculum design, and Chinese teacher training in the future. Moreover, both sides could produce more fruitful results and contribute to China's Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" strategy.
Abdul Moneim Al-Hayani, Vice President of King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia, praised MUC's characteristics and advantages. Moreover, he expressed support for the China Culture and Art Exchange Center and the MUC School of International Education to launch cooperation encompassing Chinese teaching and other aspects. He regards that this cooperation will benefit the international development of both schools.
Zhou Tiehai, secretary of the Communist Party of China branch of the MUC School of International Education, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of the MUC School of International Education. The ceremony was presided over by Hu Huazheng, Director of the International Cooperation Division. Other relevant colleges and department heads participated in the video signing ceremony.
King Abdulaziz University was founded in Jeddah, the second-largest city in Saudi Arabia, in 1967. It currently ranks within 100 in the world for science and engineering and is one of the world's well-known comprehensive universities. In 2018, the school established the King Abdulaziz University Chinese Culture and Art Exchange Center, which is mainly dedicated to cultural exchanges and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China. The center is also utilized to carry out Chinese language teaching and promote educational cooperation and exchanges between the two countries. Other than that, it is used to strengthen cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation between the universities of the two countries and promote cultural exchanges between the youth of the two countries. The center is also the first HSK test center in Saudi Arabia, recognized by Hanban.
