Members of the “La Casa de China” Organization in the Dominican Republic Visit MUC

On the morning of December 16th, MUC  Vice President Shi Yazhou met with a Dominican “La Casa de China” delegation during their visit to MUC. "La Casa de China" is a Dominican non-governmental Sino-friendly organization with members from political parties, companies, universities, academic institutions, and other fields in the Dominican Republic. The organization was established to motivate cooperation in trade, commerce, and other aspects between the two countries. Shi Yazhou introduced details of the higher education for ethnic minorities in China and as well as the current development status of MUC. He said that in recent years, the school has established cooperative relations with many Latin American universities and organizations. These include some with institutions in the Dominican Republic, and he hopes that delegations will take the opportunity to further deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation with Dominican Republic universities as well as other kinds of institutions. "La Casa de China" Chairman Félix Aracéna Vargas stated that "La Casa de China" has been committed to promoting the normalization of relations between the two countries since its inception, and he is very pleased to see that the two countries established diplomatic relations last year. In the future, "La Casa de China" will continue to contribute to the friendship between China and Dominican Republic. Many members of "La Casa de China" come from universities and hope to have in-depth cooperation with MUC.



The two sides also established cooperation relations between MUC and the "La Casa de China", the Latin American University Alliance, and the Dominican Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. They exchanged views on jointly hosting the China-Domnica Government-Industry-University Cooperation Forum and inviting Dominican universities to join the "Belt and Road" national art education alliance and related matters. After the talks, the delegation visited the MUC ’s library's special collection exhibition of ancient books and the museum ’s ethnic costumes and national musical instruments exhibition and gave high praise. Relevant comrades from the National Department of Friendship of the People's Republic of China and the MUC Office of International Relations attended the meeting.
